15-Minute Blog Post

What can I write about in 15 minutes? Can I write enough to be satisfied that I actually wrote something today? I don't know, but I'm willing to find out. It's currently 1:45AM, and it's too late for me to spend much time on a proper post. Still, I'm also way behind on posts, and I'm not willing to slip even further behind tonight. So, here we go.

I suppose the best thing to do is have a stream of consciousness post. Its not necessarily going to be coherent, but it can certainly fill up space. Plus, it will allow my fingers to get some exercise, HEH.

Today I had an argument with a co-worker. At least, I think he would consider it an argument. I don't think every disagreement is an argument. Normally this is the point when I would pull up merriam-webster.com to look up the exact definition of argument, but I don't have that kind of time. Suffice to say, though, that I was a bit curt with him about our differing packing methods. He suggested that perhaps I was lacking in sleep, which was making me irritable. (I don't think he actually used the word "irritable," but I certainly heard it between the lines.) I was tempted to quote Mr. Winston Wolf, telling him that if I am being curt it's because time is of the essence--as it certainly is, considering that we're all working overtime tomorrow.

That said, he may have been somewhat correct. I am certainly getting less sleep than I would like. Or, to be more precise, my sleep quality hasn't been that good, even if the actual time spent sleeping is technically adequate. Eight hours of troubled sleep isn't as good as six hours of deep rest, I think. Or perhaps it's equivalent. I'd look it up, but I've already used up half of my time already.

I think I'm sleeping poorly because my life is currently mostly just work and sleep, with only a few short breaks here and there. I don't have much time for gaming, goofing off, or even writing blogs. It's a shame, but that's holiday work for you. It'll only last for about another week, and then it'll be time for rest and normal hours again.

Probably the most restful thing I've been doing is hiking on some days. I've got some really great pictures and even a video of a cool area deep in Sabino Canyon, past a few rows of mountains. The mountains get very lovely there, and there are forests all over around that area, including deciduous trees! You can tell I've been in the desert for a while since the concept of deciduous trees is exciting to me. It's funny to think how close they are, here in the middle of the desert. But then, these hikes Laura and I go on are always interesting, beautiful experiences that never fail to amaze me.

Anyway, this wasn't too bad for a 15 minute post. It was rambling, but it's longer than some of my other ones. I look forward to a time when I'll be able to dedicate more time to my writing again.
